Our journey

Prof. Mohamed Badamana was born in the Island of Lamu, Kenya. He studied Religious Education in Madrasatun Najah Al-Islamiyyah in Lamu up to Thanawiyyah (Secondary School Level).

He then continued with his studies till he obtained Diploma in Animal Husbandry at Egerton College Kenya; Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Mosul, Iraq; Master of Science in Animal Production and Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition at the University of Reading, United Kingdom. Then he joined the University of Nairobi as a Lecturer, being promoted later to Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and headed the Department of Animal Production for three terms totaling a period of nine years.

Professor Badamana holds a PhD in Islamic studies from the University of Khartoum . He has lectured and examined MA and PHD students at the University of Nairobi kikuyu campus ,and Kenyatta University in the department of Philosophy and Religious studies. He has presented papers at many international forums as well as published in many referee journals . He is a leading figure in the society’s collective attempts towards Islamic welfare in Kenya. He sits in Shari’ah supervisory boards of several Islamic Financial Institutions both locally and internationally.
